Paris

Here are a few pictures from Paris.  We mainly just walked around and enjoyed the "everyday life" of the city.

 Arc de Triomphe

 Louvre

Notre Dame - It is truly amazing this cathedral was built in the 1100s.  Absolutely amazing!

 Eiffel Tower

 Sacre Coeur

We went on a Catacombs tour for the first time.  In the 1800s, there was outbreak of disease around a cemetery in central Paris.  They decided to remove the bodies from the cemetery and moved them to a quarry site, which is now in the middle of the city too.  Eventually, they moved 6 million bodies.  We walked for about half a mile with bones stacked on each side!  It was crazy and unreal and peoples homes were just up above!

Our favorite part of the trip was a dinner cruise on the Seine River.  Our friends, Marion and Fredric, took us on a dinner cruise on our honeymoon.  Sebastien booked a dinner cruise for us on this 10 year anniversary trip (which was supposed to be a surprise, but I ruined that:).  It was amazing!  We were sitting at the front of the boat, so we could we all the sites along the Seine.  When had a four course meal with Champagne and wine.  There was a pianist and violinist playing all evening.  Truly, it was a magical night, and we would highly recommend it. We used the Bateaux Mouches company.

It is duck confit and foie gras on our plates - delicious!
